![]() ![]() Having done CAD work in the past (land surveyor) I know the big screen will be an awesome tool trying to navigate the lot layout on a 100-acre subdivision when working on a 14" screen.well you know. I gave her these 34 inch flat screen monitors thinking I was being a great husband, and she had to get a significantly deeper desk in order to utilize the whole screen. I am painfully aware of all this because my wife suffers from mono vision due to a late corrected lazy eye. So how much detail can you focus on, most humans can see more than 180 degrees with 2 good eyes, but that is only with periphreal vision right? Typical FOV is significantly less, as little at 45 degrees for some. 30 inch deep desk at work and my monitor sits on the right corner of my desk, and I think I could manage 2 34 inch screens so the curve is really not needed.Ī 448-49 wide screen would require a curve on both my desk at work and home for sure (home it might not even be manageable for me without a deeper desk). For example I have a low(er) resolution 34 flat screen at home and the 22 inch deep desk I use makes it hard to see the whole screen. Further has everything to do with your field of vision and how deep your desk is. What I CAN tell you though is, curvature is one of those things that mitigates the need to place a monitor further away. We cannot answer your question because in a lot of cases it is personal preference. NOT for CAD, but VISIO and tons of other detail work. I've used a 34 in high(er) resolution monitor for now 3 years on my desk at work. ![]()
